The Murder-Hobo Problem
We've all been there. You wave at a stranger, maybe drop a medkit to be nice, and they just blast you in the face. It's a plague in games like this. After a while, everyone stops trying to be friendly and just hides in bushes, turning the whole Underground into a mindless deathmatch. It kills the vibe when every interaction ends in a firefight instantly.
The Fix: Behavioral Matchmaking
Well, Embark has a solution, and it's already live. CEO Patrick Söderlund just confirmed in an interview that they added a secret filter to matchmaking about a week ago. It's not just about Skill or Squad Size anymore—it's about your **Playstyle**. The game is tracking how 'prone to PvP' you are.
- OLD SYSTEM: Matched by Skill + Squad Size (Solo/Duo/Trio).
- NEW SYSTEM: Matched by Skill + Squad Size + AGGRESSION LEVEL.
- THE REALITY: If you Kill-on-Sight (KoS) frequently, you get matched with other killers.
Karma is Real
Players had theorized this was happening, but now it's a fact. It's a smart middle ground—it doesn't split the game into hard 'PvE' vs 'PvP' modes, but it keeps the absolute psychos contained in their own lobbies. Söderlund admitted it's not an exact science yet, and you still need *some* danger to keep things exciting, but the days of stomping friendly players without consequence are over.
Important Update
ADVICE: If you don't want to play in lobbies full of bloodthirsty murderers... stop being a bloodthirsty murderer. At least, not *all* the time.
